Revamped Flip Flops

My daughter Papaya is in LOVE with flip flops. But the hard thing is, they wear too easy. They look worn out and tired within a week. I recently let her choose a pair of cute ones from Dollarama, but the plastic straps were getting a greenish tinge from the sunlight. So revamp we shall :)

If you are starting from scratch with a NEW pair of flip flops, I'd recommend the Old Navy ones in white or any other solid colour.

You'll need:
Ribbon (mine is all from Dollarama, and a couple spools from Michaels for 89c)
Flip Flops
Scissors

That's it!! It's pretty self-explanatory what to do here, but I'll give a tutorial just to give this blog post some substance.

Here's what we started with:

Next, I got all my ribbon out

Cut about 5 inch long strips (which is longer than the end result but allows for easy tying).
Tie on in no particular order or pattern. Just have fun!

Now trim it up to the desired length

VOILA!

Not to toot my own horn, but these are so cute. I can't wait for Papaya's reaction to these :)

ADORABLE! Olivia's feet get bothered by hers so this just might do the trick! A definite activity for a very hot or rainy day. Thanks Frugal Mama :)

Also, the ribbon from Dollarama came in a 5pk of assorted ribbons that matched which made this project very cheap!!! But if you wanted more custom ribbons then I recommend www.theribbonretreat.com
