Twig Photo Display

Yesterday my lovely 4 year old daughter brought me home a stick from the park. 
She was delighted to have this treasure for me. 
It was one of those moments when you say
 "oh thanks..." and think 
where the heck am I going to put this?

This week that thought actually got me somewhere.

I decided to make something of this large twig.

Luckily enough, everything I needed was already in my house.

Picture frames, ribbon, glue gun, eyelet hooks and picture hangers.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

Here's what I had to work with:

Here's the hardware I used:

(the picture hanger I used was slightly larger, but I took this pic after the fact)

First, I screwed the first eyelet screw into place for the centre frame, then added the outer two, then added the two smaller ones in between.

Just eyeballed it for how I wanted the pictures to hang.

Then I glued ribbon to the inside of the frame's backing using a glue gun

Then I hung it up...

...and decided it was too "cutesy meets rustic" and took it down.

Glued the jute twine, just as I had the ribbon on the inside of the frame's backing.

And the results? Well, I dunno...fantastic!

I love this project.

BONUS: my daughter is so overjoyed that her park find is now a piece of art in our home.
