A few years back I came across this really sweet "Bliss" sign in the clearance section of the kids department of HomeSense.
It was marked $1.50 because it had scratches all over it.
I brought it home and touched up the scratches and have left it be for all this time.
{enter mod podge}
For those who don't know what Mod Podge is, it's a durable semi-gloss varnish polyurethene (I totally just copied that from the label) that can be simply painted on to adhere and then coat whatever are working on.
Most likely in my case...scrapbook paper to some object found around the house.
I'm sure you can see where all this is going.
Here's what I started with. Plain Jane wooden word sign.
Traced out the letters on the back of my 33cent Michael's scrapbook paper, cut them out, adhered them with mod podge and then sealed it up with mod podge.
Here it is!!
In her new home...above my stove.
My boring backsplash totally needs this punch of colour.
ah...camera angles. you are so fun.
So if you live anywhere in North America, it's likely you OWN or have seen and admired wooden wall words.
Don't want to be generic? this is the solution!!
Oh,Mod Podge.
What can't you do?
Except clean my house.
Please?....no??? alright...tomorrow then...
