Making Logos/Buttons with Picnik (plus, VOTE for the best!)

Recently my sister got a new amazing DSLR camera. You remember me sharing the incredible (and hilarious) photos she did for us here right?

Well, soon she will be moving to a new town and hopefully doing some side business in photography.

It's hard though, starting something new.
You need a name, a look, and lots of other things.

So knowing how much a "completed look" really motivates ME
(or at least it has with my blog & etsy shop)
I wanted to encourage my sister by giving her a bit of vision towards doing Photography as a business, not just a hobby.

Meghann is struggling with a TITLE.

Here are the THREE she is leaning towards.

APERTURE
MELT
(for the initials of the members of her little fam)
OR
OWL SNAP
(tell me if you get the joke here...some didn't)

So using Picnik.com, I created these three logos.

Picnik is SO easy to use. This was all done in the basic FREE TO USE package, nothing premium.

All I did was upload a photo (any photo really) and cover it in a big white rectangle (found in "stickers") and continued to add text and "stickers" to create a logo.

If you need a specific size (lets say to make a 125 x 125 button), simply open PAINT on your computer and there should be a white nothing box.
Drag the corners to resize.
When you're doing so, note the bottom right corner has two numbers.
These are your pixel sizes. Drag until it's the correct size.
Then save. Open in Picnik and edit it up!
see it? right there ^      .
it says  124x125, That's the pixel sizes!

So lets bring this to a VOTE!!

My vote is for MELT....it reminds me of a heart melting and most phots are done around family events - baby, engagement, wedding, anniversary.

They are all cute! I like the personal meaning behind melt, and I DID get the Owl Snap (I will snap) but not until you mentioned there was a hidden meaning. But... all that said I still vote for aperture photography, only because it sounds professional and she can grow with the name even if her photography takes different turns throughout her career. That's my two cents!

I love Owl Snap! So clever!!!! I am in the middle of this process too and who knew that that just the name would be so darn hard! I love my Jemma's name and wanted to use that but the hubby didn't think that would be good. I have gone through so many names! Right now it is Kathryn Anne Photography. I liked Captured by Kat, but there is a girl in town with Captured by Kate. Booo... Oh the struggles!! Thanks for letting me know about picknik. I have been playing with word and elements, but it isn't the same! Yours are too cute! Thanks for sharing!

Very cute logos! I like "Owl Snap" - it took me a min, but I did get it! :) "MELT" is my second choice; I love a name with special meaning. Best of luck to your sister! :)

Owl Snap! Super cute! You're too fun to use something as serious as "aperture photography." To me, that's something an anti-social 35 year old guy would use. LOL

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been dying to know how to do this! WAHOO! I already tried it.

Warmly, Michelle
I like the Owl Snap name & logo the best
