Sometimes family photos go all wrong, but it's a good thing.

Gone are the days that I wanted perfection in a photo.

My kids will not be too posed.

In fact, if they were, it would not be them.

Photos should display one's true self. Or in this case, or family's true self.

So, here's the scene:

My sister has a wicked awesome new camera, and I grovel at her to take family photos for us so we can get some Christmas cards ordered.
She obliges, knowing full well that Jemma will likely "photo bomb" every single one.
I told her not to worry about us being perfect.
It's just NOT going to happen.
We did however have some great area to play with in the park behind my parents house.

So when Meghann came up with the genius idea for the kids to hang off the goal posts, we were all for it.
We thought it out, and decided that we would hold the two weaker ones up, and Uncle Thomas would place "gymnist" Jemma on to hang, then let go and get out of the photo. Jemma did not hold on for more than 10 seconds.

This is just proof that when kids outnumber parents, something is BOUND to go wrong. hahaha.

No children were harmed in the taking of this photo:
Jemma is SOOOO going to pull this out on us in her teen years isn't she?

My favorite one:

This WAS a photo of all of us, but I just loved it cropped in on just the kids between us.

Vanity shot much? yah, alright...but I had to show off my {Just-Lovely-Things} headband!

My sweet boy!

Meghann has a great eye for photos, so these came out SO well.
I'm so thankful to her for taking them for us.

If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll see that I'm starting a board of fun family photos.
Maybe you'll find some inspiration!

So...which one should be our Christmas Card photo?

I vote you choose the one where the neglected middle child is left to fend for herself!
Love it!!

Love the vanity shot. You look so beautiful. I would definitely use the second for one. I would love for you to stop by and link up your photos to More the Merrier Monday. It lasts through Wednesday so you have plenty of time to link up.
